As I mentioned in an early blog post I am going to start posting everything I've created in a week all in one post. So, let's get started!
I needed to make a birthday card for The Little Things Bakery where I sell my cards so I came up with this design for a shape card. I found the pattern paper in my stash and immediate thought "birthday." Not sure why. The video below shows how I designed it, cut it and put it all together.
Cupcake Shape Card
This was such a fun card to make using one of my favorite stamp and die sets from Avery Elle. In the video I showed a technique on how to outline a stamp that doesn't have an outline design. It's subtle but it did the job.
Birthday Card - Avery Elle "Party Animal"
My best friend's daughter was complaining about how she never gets birthday cards. So she posted on Social Media for everyone to send her daughter a card. I made her the Party Animal card and this one here. Oh, to be 18 again. The card base came from a 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock that was already created. It almost looks like it was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I bought it at Michael's ages ago. The stamp set is also from Avery Elle. I stamped the balloon numbers in red ink then used my white gel pen to add a bit of character to it. I did not do a video on this card.
And lastly....I've been in my new neighborhood for almost a year. The people are so nice. I am very blessed. The little girl next door came over yesterday morning and invited me to her birthday party. It was so sweet! I ran to Michael's and bought a few artsy craftsy things that a 9 year old would like to do. Her dad told me she liked doing art projects and sparkly shiny things.
I got the black and white polkadot paper at Michael's. I found this flower on a CTMH - Artist cartridge and cut all the images in sparkly pink glitter paper. I then used green glitter paper to make the leaves. I forgot to take a picture of the card I made. I used the left over glitter paper and cut out a "Birthday Girl" image in white. I added sequence as well.
She loved what I got her and wanted to play with everything as soon as she opened it. Mom said no, but hopefully she'll get to enjoy it today.
Thank so much for being a follower on this blog. I really do appreciate it and welcome your comments.
