Scrapbook Layout Process - 103 It's all about me

My Grandma turned 103 on the 17th of May! She called me that evening and thanked me for the party. Funny though, she said next time I want cake instead of cupcakes and a cheeseburger instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Her favorite color is lavender so I made the layout with that color. The journal tags are something that I've never done before. I used the Cricut draw feature then put a bit of bakers twin on each one of them. I thought the butterflies added a pretty touch and the sparkly letters for the title.

Wedding Card - Just Married

Funny how things inspire us crafty people. I was going through my bakers twine, ribbon and tulle and saw this white tulle with the polk a dots and thought, "Oh, this would look good on a Wedding card." So, here it is. I had made this for my stash but ended up taking it to the The Little Things Bakery. I hadn't included any Wedding cards there yet.
If you're ever in Santa Barbara and are looking for something sweet drop by the bakery and have a sweet treat...oh, and buy a card...tee hee.

Banner for Grandma's party and Cupcake Wrappers

My Grandma's favorite color is purple and she loves butterflies. I haven't used the Cupcake Wrappers Image set from CDS too often but am sure glad I remembered I had it. The color of the frosting was purple but the picture makes it look grey...ugh.

I took a picture of the banner then made some adjustments. As you can see the right ribbon on the Birthday word is too long. I did fix it though. I used Country Life Image set on Cricut Design Space for this banner. I used the butterflies on CDS too but can't remember what image set it was...yikes.

Happy 103rd Birthday for my Grandma

It's crazy but YES my grandma turned 103 today. She's still as sassy as ever!

I forgot to take a picture of the card so, here's a picture of her and my two sons. Jordan, on the left, is my 21 year old baby. Kyle, on the right, is my 24 year oldest son. God, I love these guys.

She was so happy to see them. Their busy lives of college and work makes it hard to go see her as often as they'd like to. This was a very special day.

Scrapbook Layout Process- 120 Gallon Fish Tank

It's been a while since I've done a layout. I was looking forward to this one.

This was a very big fish tank but watching my son and all of his friends turn it into something as beautiful as this was absolutely wonderful. We had to drain it and move it up to the Central Coast. I thought the movers were going to freak out when they saw it. But, it's all set up here in our new home now and looks just as lovely.

I've included the second page, next to the original page, and a side shot showing how I popped up the circles to make them look like bubbles as well. If found the round letters in my stash and thought with the colors and the circle shape they'd be perfect for the title. The little dog and the fish bowl is from Miss Kate's Cuttables. I ended up journaling on strips of paper this side of the layout.

Mother's Day Card for Mom

I'm hooked on using glossy and matte photo paper for print and cut. The colors are so crisp and the Cricut cuts it so beautifully.
I decided to emboss the envelope with the same embossing folder that I used for the card. The envelope is bigger than an A2 size card but the embossing still looked pretty cool.

Thanks for following my blog. I hope what you see is inspiring.

Just Because

This was the first time I'd worked with the Cricut Plush Craft Foam. What a treat it was...like how I did that?

The Little Things Bakery Card #3 How Sweet It Is

Here's the 3rd sample card for The Little Things Bakery. This post is after the fact because they liked all the samples and the cards are now in the store.

Here's how I made it.

Thanks so much!

Flamingo Birthday Card

When I was setting up the card display at The Little Things Bakery a woman came in and asked if I'd make her a Flamingo birthday card. In the 10 years I've been making cards I've actually never made a Flamingo card.

Here's what I used to make it.
Card base: Stampin' Up black and white polk a dot paper
Pink Layer: American Crafts
White Layer: 65 lb weight card stock
Leaves: Life's A Beach (CDS)
Flamingo: Winged Beauties (CDS)
Sequence: Doodlebug
Stamps: Cardz TV

May 2019 Calendar for Grandma

I had some leftover flowers from the Faux Spring hat I made so I decided to use them for my Grandma's calendar this month. This is a very special month. She will be turning 103. Bless her heart.

Here's how I made it.
