Christmas 2016 Card Series #10 - Just Believe

First, I want to thank all of you who have joined me for the 2016 Series. I hope you've enjoyed my creations and have been inspired.

This is the last card of the series. I used my Silhouette Cameo Print and Cut feature for the adorable Mrs. Claus and the Reindeer. I was able to use about 10% more of the DCWV pre-cut cards that I've had FOREVER.

Now, I usually take a picture of each card I make but for some reason I spaced on this

So, here's the link to the video;

Christmas 2016 Card Series #9 - Warmest Winter Wishes

How can you go wrong with adding cute little penguins to a Holiday card? I've also used a beautiful Graphics 45 designers paper, Cardz TV and Miss Emma stamps (which I used my Brother Scan and Cut2). The card design is from Cricut Design Space.

Christmas 2016 Card Series #8 - Wishing You a Warm Christmas

I'm having so much fun doing this series! Thanks so much for following along.

For this card I used a CDS image and turned it into a card. I just loved the design on this card! The stamp is from Avocado Arts.

Christmas 2016 Card Series #7 - Sending Holiday Cheer

There are just three more cards I've created for this series.

My Brother Scan and Cut2 aka my Brother did a fab job on cutting out this Avocado Arts stamp of a Christmas tree. I also used my Wink of Stella on the snowflakes to give it a bit of sparkle. The sentiment came from the Avocado Arts stamps as well.

Christmas 2016 Card Series #6 - Merry Christmas

Ho Ho Ho and a Merry Christmas.

Here's the 6th card I've made of this series. The design is an oldie but goody called the Trifold card. If you watch the video (link down below) you'll hear that I kept saying Gate Fold. Ugh!

I used the Candy Cane Lane Stampin Up paper that I bought from my friend Marie. Dang this paper pack is cute!
The "Merry Christmas" came from Anna Griffin's December 25th Christmas cartridge and the embellishment/lable (?) was from Phrases Cricut cartridge.

Christmas 2016 Card series #5 - Warmest Wishes

It's so convenient when you have the pre-cut cards and envelopes. I used one here from DCWV then added a CDS (Cricut Design Space) embellishment. I wasn't quite happy with the dullness of the red on the holly so I added stickles. The ribbon piece is something I got out of my stash. I think it's American Crafts.

Christmas 2016 Card Series #4- Holly Hello

Using pre-cut cardstock from DCWV is just so convenient. I had bought this pack a few years ago and can't seem to finish it The stamp set is from Avocado Arts (sorry, they're no longer in business). The snowflake is from the Silhouette Library I am still trying to figure out my Brother Scan and Cut 2 and tried to use it on the snowman....anyway. Practice makes perfect.

Thanks so much!

I wrapped the ornaments and thought, "Gosh, I should have taken a picture of these for my blog." But honestly I don't think the pictures would have turned out so that you could see the images correctly. My point? Here's the link to the video I've made showing you how I did it.

Thanks so much!

Christmas 2016 Card Series #3 - Sending Love

Moving on with card #3. Whoo Hoo, or I should say "Hoot Hoot" because this little owl is adorable! I've used a Silhouette
image, Stampin up paper and Cardz TV stamps!

Christmas 2016 Card Series #2 - Tis the Season

And away we go. Here is card #2 of the Christmas 2016 card series. I've used another image from the Silhouette library. Now this is a simple card so mass producing this would be great as well as card #1.

I used card stock that I had bought at Staples. It's a 65 lb weight. Anything thicker would have been too hard to fold over because of the way the image cut at the score line. You could use gold, green, red paper for the insert.

Christmas 2016 Card Series #1 - All Is Bright

Welcome to card #1 of the Christmas 2016 card series. I'll be using both Silhouette and Cricut Design Space images for the 10 cards I'm making.

For this card I've used the Silhouette library for the All is calm All is bright image. I dusted off the 'ol heat embossing gun and added some pretty snowflakes as well. I like the black on white. It's very unusual for a Christmas card.

Cardz TV Sketch Designers Challenge - Thanksgiving Card

Hey everyone!
Here's my Thanksgiving card for the sketch designers team challenge. Mary at Cardz TV has created so many amazing sketches! You must go check them out!

For this challenge we were given the choice to use #5 or #6. I chose number six because I'd already done a card for #5.

Combining the sketch and the stamp sets really makes a great card. I used "Many Thanks" and "Going In Circles"

Here's my card. If you'd like to watch how I made it click on the youtube link below:

Thanksgiving 2016 Card Series and other Thanksgiving cards

Well, the series has come to an end so I thought I'd share the whole "kitten caboodle" (isn't that a funny saying?). You might be asking yourself, "What the heck is she going to do with all those cards?" On November 19, 2016 I'll be participating in a Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. I sell my cards 3 for $10 or $4 each. If you're interested in any of them you can purchase them by leaving a comment. The proceeds will go to ACS. Shipping not included.

I've done youtube videos on the cards that are in the series. If you want to see you I've made them just click on this link. They'd be under "Thanksgiving 2016 Card Series"

Here are some other cards I've made both recently and in the past:

Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by.

Big Hug and Happy Thanksgiving.

Die Cut Machines

I'm always been one to hesitate jumping in and making a major purchase for a crafting tool ($300 is major to me) and every so often I test the thing and end up returning it.

The very first crafting tool I bought was the Sizzix die cut machine. You know the little blue one? It's still in my closet but in the days I used the heck out of it.
I then progressed to the Big Shot. I loved it and still use it for a quick die cut. It's especially handy when you want to cut out a frame for a photo. I have over 100 dies and embossing folders. Did I just say that out loud?
Then I bought the Cricut Personal. I literally used it so much that it stopped working. Along with that I bought over 100 Cricut cartridges. I still have the cartridges but never use them.
It was time to move on to something bigger. Yep I bought the Cricut Expression. I loved that you could use the cartridges AND the Cricut Craft Room software. I found a yellow one!
Drum roll.....I bought the Cricut Explore. This has been my Go To machine for over a year. I
n between the Expression and Explore my husband bought me the Silhouette Cameo. I loved it so much and almost felt guilty because I was always so devoted to the Explore. Then, the Silhouette broke.
I went a couple of years using just the Explore...I'm sounding spoiled here....and decided to take the plunge and try the Silhouette Cameo 2. I fell back in love. It cuts faster then the Explore and the Library is amazing.
The Cricut Design Space software is easier to use than the Silhouette yet there are features the Silhouette has that are very useful that CDS does not have....yet.
Then came my Brother. No, silly. Not my human Brother Scan and Cut 2. I've just
unboxed it and am trying out a few features. The one thing that has always held me back from using my stamps, the one's that I don't have dies for, is that you have to fussy cut them. It's a pain in the "you know whatta" especially if you're doing multiple cuts of something. My brother is now taking care of that for me. I've given you a sample of a Lawn Fawn stamp set with tiny little birds and a sentiment. I cut it without an outline and with an outline. I'm telling you it was the easiest stamp and cut I've ever done. There's much more this machine can do and does come with images itself. I'll play around with it more after I get back from my 35 year class reunion in Santa Barbara. Man, I'm going to miss my

Cardz TV Sketch Design team - Thank You

Here I am thoroughly enjoying making cards using Cardz TV sketches. For this challenge we were to make a Thank You card using either sketch 9 or 10. I chose #10. I gave it a twist and made it a shaker card. Click on the link below and you'll go directly to Cardz TV blog.

The beautiful butterfly paper came from a 6 x 12 pack from DCWV. I'd bought it at the Michael's up at my grandma's house in Lompoc. The blue layer is some shimmer paper from Recollections. I used a butterfly punch that Lindsey gave me when she moved and added a few pieces of sequence.
I used the "Many Thanks" Cardz TV stamp set. I love the calligraphy style of this stamp I chose.
