Happy New Year Banner

Happy New Year everyone! I've made this banner for my mom. I took it over to her yesterday and she loved it. It fit perfectly on her apartment door.

If you'd like to see how I made it click on the link below:

Here's how I made it:
The banner and the top layer came from the Bits and Pieces Cricut cartridge. I cut them at 4". I used black and white Colorbok paper that I purchased at Walmart. The red ribbon is Ofray that I found at JoAnns. The rose accent is also from Bits and Pieces Cricut cartridge. I used a gold and black shimmer paper from Recollections.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Scrapbook Layout Share

I was able to squeeze in some crafting time in between, wrapping, cooking, cleaning and errand running. I made these 2 layouts.

In a lovely place called Oceano, it's Northern California, the Monarchs migrate to a Eucalyptus tree forest from Mexico. It's been 5-6 years since we'd been there. It's so majestic to see these butterflies float through the air and cling to the branches. There was a significant drop from years gone past. It's so sad.

I moved my mom from Nevada close to me here in California. She has mild to moderate Alzheimer's so she can still live on her own. I gave her a fall banner and her first night in I spent the night. We made pizza and had a glass of wine. It was kind of a Girl's Night In. Lots of fun.

Thanks for stopping by and have a sun shiny day.

Freshly Made Sketches Blog Challenge - Let it Snow.

I had done a video on how I set this card kit up for the Senior Citizen class I volunteer for but had never posted it. Here's the link:

I'm also entering the Freshly Made Sketches blog. Here's the link:

Here's how I made it:
Card Base: 110 lb Recollections card stock (A2 size)
Layer 1: 65 lb Recollections card stock (5 1/4 x 4)
Snowflakes: Cricut Design Space - Close to my heart "Artistry. Cut at 1.5 inches
Let It Snow: Cricut Design Space- Theresa Collins "December 25". Cut at 2.5 inches.
Wreath Circle - Simply Sweet. Cut at 2.5 inches.
Ink: Ranger Broken China
Pearl Drops
Embossing Folder: Darice

I ran the layer through the embossing folder and inked the edges to make it pop a bit. I also added foam adhesive to the back before I placed it on the card base.
I then glued the circle (you can't see it in the picture) which I used as a guide onto the embossed layer and added the snowflakes.
Once those were in place, I used liquid pearl drops for the centers.
"Let It Snow" is one layer so I glued it onto a white piece of card stock and fussy cut around it. I put a layer of foam tape behind it.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a sun shiny day!

Here are the cards I made at the scrapbooking event I went to a few weeks ago. I thought I had deleted them but nope....These die cuts are all from the Cricut Design Space.

Thanks for dropping by!

Catching up

The holiday "responsibilities" seem to be consuming my much neededcrafting time. I'm doing a bit here and there but am also trying to get shopping done, visiting with my Grandma, taking care of my mom, baking and stuff like know the drill. I swear I'll be starting my holiday crafts in August next year and not waiting until November.

I had made 3 really cute designs of Christmas cards, took a picture of them all so I could share but can't seem to find them on my SD card! Crazy!

The senior card class was fun. I posted a video of the card we made. Here's the link if you didn't get a chance to watch it. I'll be thinking about a Valentine's Day themed card for the January class.

Tomorrow my husband goes in for surgery on his sinuses. They're impacted and have been for years. He's never had any kind of surgery before so he's a bit nervous. His snoring should start to minimize, he'll be able to breath better and sleep better (me too!). He'll be taking the week off so I'll be giving him the attention he needs...wants? If he's doing ok I'll be in my craft room finishing up my tree ornaments.

Thanks all for stopping by!
