Boutique Time

If you're a crafter that sells your creations you know that this is the busiest time of the year. You've prepared for months making your creations, having a great time and feeling very inspired. The time has come to pack up all your creations and are excited about selling them. You've enjoyed working so hard.

It's a lot of hard work with setting up and taking down. I don't want to discourage anyone from doing this. I had a wonderful time hanging out with my boutique buddy Cynthia (she sells Scentsy candles) and seeing friends I hadn't seen for years. There was one vendor who's set up was huge. She made wreaths, christmas trees, etc. using mostly burlap. Beautiful stuff. She sold one.

Sadly, I decided last night that I won't be able to participate in boutiques anymore. My health isn't all that great (no sympathy please). I thought I could do it. Last night I got home and had to put an ice pack on my back, soak my feet in epsom salt and take 400 mgs of Advil. I can still create and that's what matters. So, scrapbooking, multi media and card making can still be done but I just won't be able to participate in the boutiques.

Here is my display at the boutique I participated in last night. Now, I have to say, although I did enjoy making all this, it was a bit of a disappointed as to how much I sold. The parents (it was at an elementary school) all had great compliments but just a few actually bought anything.

To the left were Christmas cards, coordinating gift bags and note cards, scrapbook mini albums, then Trick or Treat Party favors and Thanksgiving cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Trick or Treat Candy Crate Boxes

I delivered 20 of these to a teacher who will give them out to the staff and students. I loved how they turned out! I have 9 left over so I'm going to take them to the Fundraiser Harvest Boutique I'm participating in tomorrow.

Where Did She Go?

Are you asking yourself what the heck happen to Kim? She hasn't posted anything on her blog in a while.

#1: Currently making 20 Crate Candy holders needed by tomorrow.

#2: In the process of making 164 (36 designs) of Thanksgiving and Christmas cards for the Elementary School Harvest Fundraiser Boutique for Thursday. I've already posted the Thanksgiving card videos. The Christmas card videos will start November 3rd.

Coming up:
25 - 30 page Scrapbook "Recipe" themed for my girl friend's daughter as a Christmas gift. I should have it finished by the first week in December. This one is going to be a lot of work but fun too! I'll post the finished product and do a video on youtube.

If (crossing my fingers) all my cards sell at the boutique I'll need to make more for the two upcoming fundraiser boutiques. One is for another elementary school and the other is for a local church. All of these boutiques are fundraisers for the facility so I donate the money.

Mom's coming to town November 21 - 30. I'll be taking her up to see my Grandma and Uncle then flying back to Nevada with her on the 30th for a few days. My son, Kyle, is thinking about going with us to visit my grandma and help build a 6 x 6 x 12 outside "cat" house. About 8 months ago, they took in a stray and she had babies. Well, they didn't have the heart to get rid of the 6 kittens so they kept them. They're running a muck in the house so they want a "cat" house for the outside. It'll be interesting.

That's all for now.

Kim

Thanksgiving 2014 Card Series - Card #17

Here's a different technique I don't see being done too much on cards. I've used the Copic Air can and a couple of different colors of copics. Another technique here is masking. Using these two different types of techniques really blends well together with cards or layouts.

Card base: Recollections
Brown layer: Bazzill
White layer: Recollections
Stamps: Recollections and Craft Smart
Other Miscellaneous stuff: Copic markers, bronze ink
