I'm making thank you Apples for the great nurses and doctors who helped me out the other day. I was going to make cupcakes but that's not really promoting good health...I know they'd probably like the cupcake more tho'...
Here's what I used:
Cricut Cartridge: Cupcake Wrapper. I used the Cricut Design Space and cut it at 10.5 x 3.0.
It's here! It's here! Creative Time Tuesday. So, let's get this party started! My boys and husband are being quite cooperative and eve told me to have fun. I think they see how hard I work here around the house and do so much for them. Gotta love those guys.
One of the challenges I think most of us scrapbookers, cardmakers, artists, etc. face is finding the time to create. How do you resolve this problem? Quite often, my creative time is when I first wake up, after I've had my coffee of course, and my mind is fresh. The house is quiet and those creative juices begin to flow. I set out the paper and supplies and just as I'm ready to get started either my husband or one of my boys wakes up It's really quite disrupting....lol....how dare them, right. Kidding.
I think, however, I have resolved this problem but I foresee a challenge. I'm going to talk to my guys (husband and boys) and tell them that every Tuesday is my "Creative Time". Yes, I will make dinner but during the day there will be no doctor or vet appointments, no errands to run, they can fix their own lunch (while still on summer vacation), no laundry, no cleaning house, no paying bills, no drama, no interruptions....just creating. Now, here's the challenge: Will the creative juices be flowing every Tuesday? How do I make sure this happens?
My plan is to first decide what I'd like to do on that day. Is it make a card for a friend for family member? Is it doing a layout for my 2013 album? Is it doing a mixed media project or painting perhaps? I will search the web to be inspired and look through magazines. This always gets me going. I can actually do this Monday night as I drink my nightly Chamomile tea.
So, that's the plan. I may have time here and there throughout the week to pop in the 'ol craft room and make something but Tuesday is MY day.
Thank you all for stopping by. Have a sun shiny (raining here in Central California today) day.
My friend, Becky, and I are taking off here this morning to try and get caught up on some scrapbooking. We'll see how much we can get done. I've got the car packed up and ready...along with the Explore....
Yep. This place has internet access. I'll try to do a video on Thursday of what I've done.
I wanted to include a birthday card with my girlfriends Domed cupcake box. So here's a picture of it....
I started out with a yellow (65 lb) A2 size card stock. Since I'm not putting this in an envelope I was able to make these dimensional flowers. I used The Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge cutting them out at 3.5 inches. I used a couple of pieces of paper from My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 "My Girl" paper pack. The leaves are Stampin Up paper and I used my Martha Stewart punch. The word "Celebrate" was cut at 3.5 and I found this on the CTMH-Artbooking Cricut cartridge.
This one might be my favorite so far. Here is card #4 of the Thank You cards I'm creating for Operation Write Home (www.operationwritehome.org).
This card has a lot texture, some fun colors and a pretty design.
This weekend, I'm working on cards for Operation Write Home Organization (www.operationwritehome.org). There was notification sent out that Thank You cards were needed.
Here is how I made card #1. More to come!
BTW...still loving my Cricut Explore.
I'm doing the happy dance....my Cricut Explore has been shipped! I actually have butterflies about it. That's the good news (well super fantastic news) Here's the bad news...tomorrow is a holiday so there won't be any mail or deliveries, I'll be gone ALL day Saturday (crossing my fingers it comes Saturday so I can play on Sunday) and Monday thru Wednesday I'll be on a mini vacation to Santa Barbara with my girlfriend.
"All good things come to those who wait". So, I'll wait.
I think this is absolutely adorable and just had to share it with you. I am one of Kimberly's subscribers on her youtube channel.
She's truly inspired me to try this. You could do the envelope in a pattern paper and make a card out of the same paper to match it. SO CUTE!
I always get a kick out of making cards out of the scraps from a project, unrelated to the card, that you've been working on. I was in my Motorhome doing this video so the sound quality is not all that great.
Several years ago I bought the Sew Easy kit but have not used it a lot. I've used it for this one but I really need to get much better at it. I'll be looking for tutorials on youtube for this one.
This card will be donated to the Operation Write Home Organization www.operationwritehome.org
