Daily Motivational Project - (2/28) Friday Fun Day "Dirty or Clean" (+playlist)

I think Friday Fun Day is probably my favorite DMP. For selfish reasons I made a refrigerator magnet. My boys and husband are constantly asking me, "Are these dishes clean?". Now they have an answer. I'm chuckling to myself.

Here's how I made it.

Thanks for stopping by!

March Daily Motivational Projects- Reminder

Just a reminder that Monday, March 3, is the Daily Motivational Project "Mixed Media Monday".

I wanted to offer a few suggestions if you're new at mixed media and are thinking of trying it. Start with an index card or something of that size. This way you won't be overwhelmed. You can use watercolor paper or any kind of paper...paint on it with watercolors, acrylic paint, can stamp on it, emboss on it, add embellishments, sentiments..whatever you'd like! If you need some inspiration check out the numerous youtube videos by searching "mixed media".

I can't wait to see all your creations. Let's have some fun!

Daily Motivational Project - (2/27) Terrific Scrapbook Thursday "Los Prietos"

Here is the DMP "Terrific Scrapbook Thursday". I have about 14 pictures from this trip to scrap and will get to all of them later. Here are the first two I've done for this project.

Thanks for watching and have a sun shiny day (we sure could use a little bit here today..whew this storm is a big one).

St. Patrick's Day Tag

March is just a few days away and I am getting in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day. Here is a tag I made for the Just-A-Scrappin Design team weekly challenge. Luck O' the Irish!

Here's how I made it:
Tag: CTMH Artist Cricut cartridge. I used the Cricut Craft Room and cut it at 6 x 3 1/2.
Clover paper layer: Recollections Four Leaf Clover paper at 5 3/4 x 3 1/4 and layered it on top. On the edges of the tag, I laid down 1/8 inch scored tape and covered it with gold Martha Stewart glitter.
Lucky Day: Designer's Calendar cut two times. Once in yellow and then in green. I just used the green for the clover. I drew around the lettering with a black fine tip sharpy.
Clovers: Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge.First, I cut the clovers on regular cardstock then traced them onto the DCWV corrugated paper. They are cut at 2, 1 1/2 and 1. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink. I then placed a gold faux pearl in the middle of each one.
Ribbon: I added a piece of green Ofray ribbon and tied a gold bow for more accent.

Thanks all for stopping by!

Daily Motivational Project - (2/26) Washi Tape Wednesday "Teacher Clipboard"

Thanks for stopping by for the DMP - Washi Tape Wednesday. Who would have known there was Chalkboard Washi Tape? I've used a little bit of it here in the Teacher Clipboard project. You'll notice I added the ribbon and a faux stitch.

Here's how I made it.

March Daily Motivational Projects

There are just 3 days left of February. I can't believe it! I've come up with a list of what I'd like to do for my Daily Motivational Projects (DMP) for March. I do these projects to either motivate myself, learn a new technique, to actually get something done (cough, cough scrapbook pages), to hopefully inspire you and to just have a lot of fun.

I would love it if you join in and try it out. All you have to do is email me pictures ( of the creations you've made from the DMP list and allow me to post them on this blog and Sunshine Creations and Crafts Facebook page. There aren't any prizes but virtual hugs from me and the rest of the bloggin' society.

Here's what I/we'll be doing. You don't have to but let's try to integrate St. Patrick's day in our projects by using green, yellow, gold, black, leprechauns, pots of gold, rainbows...well, you know what I'm talking about.

Monday: Mixed Media Monday. Back to that. I need the practice.
Tuesday: Stamp It Tuesday. Anything goes using any type of stamp set. You can emboss, distress, paint, etc. as long as it has a stamp on it.
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday. Did you make a project that was a "blooper"? Is it a silly design that would make someone chuckle? Let's take a minute to laugh. It's good for us.
Thursday: Die Cut Thursday. This would include any project you've made using any die cut electronic machine or metal dies. Ha! this one won't be too hard, right?
Friday: Frantic Scrapbook Friday. Are you a year behind on your scrapbooking? Two years? Well today you can set aside some time to do a layout.

I hope you can join in on the fun!

Thanks for stopping by and have a sun shiny day!

Spring In Febraury

I usually post paper crafting and art projects but I walked outside this morning to these BEAUTIFUL flowers and wanted to share.
I believe this is a Lilac. This is my Grandma's favorite flower.

These are from our Cherry Blossom tree.

This is a yellow Daffodil. It almost looks like it could start singing like the one's in the Tiki Room at Disneyland.

I have no clue what this is called but it's going to take over the world.
I planted one of these in my front yard years ago and now there are 5 of them and still
consuming my yard. I even had our gardener pull most of them out so I could plant a different
type of flower but they came right full force.

This is Jasmine. It smells SO wonderful!

The lone survivor of the garden we planted last year.

A white Climbing Rose

Not sure the name of this one.

Buckwheat. Kyle says it helps bring nutrients to the soil plus he can cook with it.

Hey, an artichoke is a flower too!

Carolina Jasmine.

[ICWIC Crew] Mixed Media - Country Girl

As some of you may know, several weeks ago, I received an invitation to join a Mixed Media and Art Journaling Google + group [ICWIC Crew] of mixed media artists. ICWIC meaning "Index Card When I Can". Kellie Murton is who sent the invites out. So, at first I said to myself, "huh?". Then I did some, Pinterest, Google, etc. and decided I'd accept the "challenge" invite. I had always wanted to learn how to create mixed media projects.

I'm trying to get to the point where I am not so frustrated in my thinking process when creating and to just relax and have fun. Also, to stop comparing my "work of art" to those who have been doing this for a long time. I urge you to search "mixed media" on youtube to watch these artists and their work. They are amazing.

Here is another attempt.

Daily Motivational Projects - (2/20) Terrific Scrapbook Thursday "Happy 15"

Hi there and thank you for stopping by for the Daily Motivational Project - Terrific Scrapbook Thursday. I hope I've inspired all of you, that scrapbook, to try and spend at least one day a week to get out your pictures and do a layout. The details of the layouts would all depend on how much time you have but it's not always necessary to put a whole bunch of "stuff" on your layout. Sometimes too much takes away from your photos. So, have fun with it!

Here's how I made it.

Create, Inspire, Enjoy.

Daily Motivational Project - (2/17) Make It Yourself Monday Birthday Card CCR v...

Hi there and thanks for stopping by for the Daily Motivational Project "Make It Yourself Monday". Today, I'll be using the Cricut Markers to make a really simple birthday card. I used both the CCR and the Cricut cartridges to show a comparison on how the card can be done

The one of the left was designed and cut using the CCR. The size of the card came out to be exactly 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I found it easier to use the CCR for this type of project. I could see what size the fonts were, where I was going to put them and was able to make an exact size of an A2 size card.
The one of the right is cut directly from the Celebrations cartridge. I sized it at 10 3/4 and got a 5 1/2 inch square card which is actually very cute. I found it difficult, now this is just me, to know exactly where I could put the font.
Anyway, I hope this was helpful!

Here's how I did it.

Daily Motivational Project - (2/14) Friday Fun Day

Sorry, Friday was not a fun day for crafting. I had to take care of personal business...blah, blah, blah...who needs food in the fridge anyway, right? I wish I could afford a personal grocery shopper. It's just not one of my favorite things to do. See you all on Monday!
