Valentine's Day Card #1 - Now and Forever (Paper Smooches)

Hey there all you crafty people! Here is the first card I'll be creating for the Valentine's Day Project series.

I am so excited to be submitting my very first entry to the Paper Smooches blog www.papersmoochesstamps.com. Their stamps are too cute! You've got to check them out.

Finding a Valentine's Day card for your "masculine" special one can be a bit challenging, right? All those pretty, shiny, lacy, etc. cards makes it difficult. So, with that in mind I've designed this card for my husband. Love that guy!

Card Base: Recollections Craft Card Stock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.
Layer: Teresa Collins "Stationery Noted" 6 x 6 paper pack
Hearts: Coordinations Red Paper
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Sentiment: Craft Card Stock with "Now and Forever" stamped on white card stock.
Notice the Faux stitching around the edges of the card base and the sentiment tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a sun shiny day!

Valentine's Cards - Last Year's Models

I had made a bunch of Valentine's cards (see pictures below) to sell at my friends mail center store but the business relocated. I picked up all the cards and stored them. However, they are here to inspire you or if you're interested in buying any of them you can check out my website at www.cardcreationsbykim.com.

Next week (as time permits), I'll be starting a series creating Valentine's Cards, decorations, etc. I have a few designs and ideas that are bursting out of me.

Thank You Card #4 - Tag "Thanks ALOT"

I thought I'd mix it up a bit and do a tag for a Thank You "card". I do love to embellish tags! If you'd like to see how I created it check out www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation.

Tag: Inksentials 6 1/4 x 3 3/4.
I set up the Thank You stamps (all from Fiskars) on my Fiskars stamp block lining them up on the grid.
I heat embossed all the stamps, distress inked it with Tim Holtz spun sugar and raspberry distress ink. The ribbon is black and white polkadot and pink and white polkadot. The little black and silver bling swirl gave it the final touch.

Thank you for stopping by and have a sun shiny day!

Thank You Card #3 - Flowers and Pearls

Here's a Thank You card for my lovely friend, Wilda. She is one of the friends I did a Christmas gift exchange with. The Wild Card Cricut cartridge has so many cute card and die cut options. This one is one of my favorites. Watch how I made it on www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation

Card Base: This came from my scraps. It's purple, textured with polkadots and the inside has a slight green tone. I used the Wild Card Cricut cartridge (pg. 52) cut at 4.75 inches.
Purple Layer: The paper is purple Coordinations (bought at JoAnns). It's about 4.25 inches. I embossed it with the Darice Large Petal embossing folder then sanded it with the Tim Holtz sanding tool. For each center of the flowers I put a Recollections pearl.
Lace: Using Score tape, I put the ribbon around the back side then popped it up on the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a sun shiny day!

Thank You Card #2 - Friendship Warms The Heart

Here is the 2nd "Thank You" card I've made for my other girlfriend that we did a gift exchange. I made a video on this www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation but didn't finish the card completely. So, here are two pictures of the completed card both outside and in.

Card Stock: Graphic 45 "A Ladies Diary Collection"
Card Base: Close To My Heart Artist cartridge. Cut at 5" on page 55. I could have done Real Dial Size at 5 1/2 but didn't think about it until after I put the card together. Next time.
Flowers: CTMH Artist cartridge. Real Dial Size 2" page 55.
Pearls: I put Recollection pearls in the center of the flowers then inked them with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint. I also inked the outside edge of the card.
Sentiment: "Thank You" I created this with the Silhouette using just a regular font then welding the letters.
Sentiment: Using the sketch pens I wrote out the words for the inside of the card.

Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Please Vote! Mixed Media Choices

I just didn't get that "wow" feeling once I finished and stared at the first Mixed Media project I made for my husband so, using my Silhouette Cameo (you can design on Cricut Craft Room or The Gypsy too), I set up up and designed a new one. See it on www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation.

So, which one do you like the most? The one on the left is MM1 (I tried so hard to get the words/lettering straight...grrr...) or MM2 with the embellishments.

Thanks so much for stopping by and voting!

Mixed Media (attempt)

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what to get my husband for Christmas. Well, he gave me my present early (Silhouette Cameo) so I thought I would "try" to make him something using this new and awesome die cut machine.

I did a video www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation on how I did most of this and mentioned I would probably add more to it...and I did...so, here it is. I have mixed (no punn intended) emotions about the final look. But, being that it's my first attempt at mixed media I won't be so hard on myself.

Just-A-Scrappin Design Team Weekly Challenge

2014! Really? Bring it on!
For this week's Just-A-Scrappin Design Team challenge we had to do a card or layout with a New Year's theme using Gold, Silver and Black. I decided to add a little bit of red to it. Watch how I created it on www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation.

Base: Black and White diamond. I bought this through Oriental Trading (it was a paper stack of 12 in a variety of different colors).
Red: Recollections. I cut this at 3 1/2 then punched it with my EK Success punch.
Black and White squares: Colorbok paper. I cut these at 2 1/2 x 2 1/2.
Lettering: I used the Cricut Craft Room, Gypsy Font, to weld the letters together. The shadow and font are 2 1/2 inches. I used Colorbok paper here as well.
Ribbon: Gold Ric Rac bought from JoAnns
Die Cuts: Spellbinders: Curved Rectangles. I cut one in black then a smaller size in silver glitter paper.
Cheers: Cut at 3 1/2 from Designer's Calendar.

I think that covers it all. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a sun shiny day!

Hugs,
Kimberly

Christmas Card #2 - For the Milkman

For about 16 years now, I've had my milk, cheese, bread, ice-cream...etc. delivered by an Alta Dena milkman by the name of Vern. I've talked to him on the phone many times but haven't actually met him. He drops off our delivery at 2:00 a.m. but I thought maybe one day I'd peek out the window and see what he looks like...I just don't want to scare him.
When my boys were very young, Vern used to put stuffed animals out for them. In return, I always give him a card and treats. Here is the card I made for him this year. If you'd like to watch how I made it go to www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation

Card Base: Basic white 65lb weight card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I put the same size red glitter paper over it.
Layer 2: Green Glitter stripped paper from Recollections cut at 5 1/4 x 4.
Cricut cartridge(s): Milk and Cookies are from Country Life cut at 3 inches. Merry Christmas is from Phrases and it's cut at 1 1/2. On the cookies I put little dots of black Viva Pearl Pen.

Just-A-Scrappin weekly design team project

The design team challenge for www.just-a-scrappin.blogspot.com this week is...."Christmas, anything goes, using green, red, silver and gold." I usually make a card but decided to make a banner for my fireplace mantel instead. This project was quick and easy! If you'd like to watch how I made it go to www.youtube.com/sunshinecreation

Card Stock: Bazzill (Red and Green)
Tulle: Silver Glitter
Cricut cartridge(s):
Joys of the Season - Holly cut at 5 3/4 inches. I cut it once in red and once in green using the leaves only.
Jubilee - Letters (Runt) cut at 2 1/2.
Misc. - I used a Martha Stewart glitter pen to enhance the tick lines in the pedals but it didn't turn out as smooth as I had wanted. I think my pen is just getting old.

Thanks all so much for stopping by!

Kimberly
