"Christmas In July" Just A Scrappin Design Team 1

Merry Christmas .... in July? Yep. Here's my card for the Just A Scrappin Design Team 1 challenge. Isn't this little penquin so adorable?
Card base: Foundations card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/2.
Layer: Basic white card stock, cut at 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 embossed with the snowflake embossing folder. It's hard to see in the picture but I Glimmer Misted the paper with Marshmellow.
Penquin: Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. Popped up with a dimensional and cut at 3 inches using black, white and pink basic card stock.
Black bottom layer: Martha Stewart snowflake punch. I used basic black card stock cut at 4 1/4 x 1 1/2.
Stamp: Happy Holidays. Sorry, I don't know who manufactured this one.
Scallop shape: There are a variety of Cricut cartridges out there that have the scallop shape option.
I hope you enjoy and have a sun shiny day.

Hello! It's my friend's birthday tomorrow so I made her this card. If you haven't already used Mod Podge you have to try it. The key is to use it on the material and let it totally dry (20-30 minutes or use your heat gun) before you cut out your design.
Card base: Recollections white pre-scored w/envelope. 5 1/2 x 4
Brown layer: Foundations cut at 5 1/4 x 3 3/4
Pink layer: DCWV Shimmer paper stack. 5 x 3 1/2
Ribbon: American Crafts
Embossing; Cuttlebug Edge embossing folder
Stamp: Avocado Arts. www.avocadoarts.com
Other: Recollections foam adhesive to pop up the flowers.
Hope you enjoy and have a sun shiny day.

Miss You Card with Sunflowers

I'm submitting this card for one of Mary's card challenges (http://www.cardztv.blogspot.com/). My first time I'm doing this for Mary's site. I'm keeping my finger's crossed!
I found this TPC paper at Joanns and fell in love with it. Anything to do with sunflowers or daisies is just so pretty. One side of the paper are the sunflowers and the other is this plaid. It has a bit of shimmer to it too! I LOVE anything to do with daisies or sunflowers. The 5 1/2 x 4 in. card base is from Recollections. It's a cream color. The gold textured is DCWV and cut at 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 in. I used an Ek Success corner punch (went crazy and bought 3 different styles). I cut the sunflower paper at 3 1/4 x 2 and 3 1/4 x 3, slid them in the corners, adhered right down the middle horizontally and wrapped the Craftsmart green shimmer ribbon around, tied the bow and placed the sunflower on the middle of the bow. The "Miss You" stamp is from TPC. I've uploaded the making of this card on youtube.com/sunshinecreation. Thanks to those who have already subscribed!
Enjoy and have a sun shiny day!

Just A Scrappin Blog Hop Shadow Box Project

Did you start out at www.just-a-scrappin.blogspot.com? Well then, here we go!
Hi there all you crafters, scrapbookers, cardmakers, etc....Here is my first attempt at making a shadow box.
I bought the 12 x 14 inch wood framed box at Michaels Craft store. It is not glass but plastic. I started out with an 12 x 12 off white base, then cut a 2 inch strip of craft card stock and punched it with my shell Martha Stewart punch. I used Amercian Craft foam lettering for the "Summer Lovin'". The sun was cut out at 3 inches from Life's A Beach Cricut cartridge. I then inked the edges with Momento Orange. The mat for the picture is 4 x 6. It was a scrap. The dolphin is cut from Life's A Beach also at 2 inches. I hand drew and cut the splashes. I used Core paper from Joanns and ripped it to show light blue on the inside. I added a few glitter bubbles by using zip glue in a circle shape and white glitter. I ripped the brown as well. The sand is from Mudpuddles (muddpuddles.net) that I bought from a scrapbooking expo I attended last year. It's sand with a glue type substance. I put it on the brown paper as well as outside on the frame. I bought the shells from Michaels which I just placed inside the frame. The star fish are from Oriental Trading Co. Believe it or not...they are real. I didn't know that when I bought them. I thought they'd be plastic. I put some inside the frame as well as in the left corner on the outside.
I hope you and enjoy and have a sun shiny day! Kimberly

Thinking of "U" Card

My mom's best friend passed away on Wednesday so I made this card for her. It's a portrait card cut at 4 x 5 1/2 using pink cardstock. The floral paper is American Crafts and cut at 3 3/4 x 5 1/4. I sewed the edges (for the first time) with green thread using zig zag stitching. The bird is from Straight From The Nest Cricut Cartridge cut at 2 1/2 using brown for the shadow and pink for the top layer. The thought bubble is from Cuttin' Up cut at 2 1/2 and the 1 inch "u" is cut on dotted swiss green paper also from Cuttin Up. On the inside I cut a 3 3/4 inch x 4 1/2 inch white cardstock, inked it with Color Box pink and stamped it with TPC Studios stamp "Thinking of You".  Enjoy and have a sun shiny day.

Thinking of You - Flower Pot

As I was creating this card, It started looking more and more like a July themed card but my intentions were that the checked red/white was a table cloth with a flower pot on it. I used a 5 1/2 x 4 card base, cut red card stock the same size, used Elegant Edges for the blue cutting it at 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 and putting the 5 x 3 1/2 red/white checked. I found the green felt flowers in the dollar bin at Michaels. The flower pot is from the Celebrations Cricut cartridge cut at 4 inches and embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The lettering is from Walk In My Garden cut at 1 inch in both the shadow and regular.
Hope you enjoy and have a sun shiny day!
